The Top Four Carbon Fiber Cars

The Top Four Carbon Fiber Cars

It was back in the 80s when carbon fiber was introduced in Formula 1 cars and became an immediate success. Nowadays, almost every race car is made of carbon fiber. If it is appropriately used, carbon fiber is lighter and stronger than steel. So it is not a surprise why race car manufacturers have decided to invest a whole lot of money to make all their cars of this material.

Carbon fiber has recently become a popular material also for road cars. Since it is expensive, some models have only some of their parts made of carbon fiber. However, other cars are entirely made of this material. In this article, we will present to you the top 4 carbon fiber cars.

MacLaren 570S

The MacLaren 570S is a sports car that was made by MacLaren Automotive. Even though it is a sports car, it offers a lot of comfort. In addition to its outstanding looks, it feels easy and natural to drive. It is like a commuter car with a little extra carbon fiber. This car can reach 204 miles per hour.

The MacLaren 570S has a strong chassis, which weighs only 75 kg and features great dynamics. Its construction provides the top balance between power and weight among all sports cars in this class. You can choose from Normal, Track, or Sports modes to adjust to the conditions of the road.

There is one more additional mode called Ego, which allows you to personalize the steering, powertrain, and suspension to fit your driving style and the road. Thanks to its 6,5 –liter V – 12, the Aventador possesses 730 HP. The exterior design of the car is very attractive with its roofless counterpart.

The chassis of the LEXUS LFA is made of CFRP (Carbon fiber reinforced polymer), which makes it incredibly light. Just 35% of the body of this car is made of aluminum. If we do the math, LEXUS LFA would weigh 100 kg more had it been made only of aluminum.

This car features a 4,8-liter V-10 engine, which is very durable and reliable thanks to special titanium connection rods, aluminum pistons, and titanium valves. The engine of the LEXUS LFA can rev 9,000RPM in 0,6 seconds.
